NORTH CAROLINA

Academic institutions in North Carolina—such as Appalachia State University—have launched programs that train students, like those at left, in renewable energy installation, design, and power generation. These students provide a ready workforce for the 137 solar companies currently at work throughout the value chain in North Carolina, employing 3,100 people.
