Althea’s primary responsibilities include managing the day-to-day execution of campaign-related grantmaking and projects for the Southeast team, while ensuring alignment with overall program strategy and goals. Althea also manages the workflow of key Southeast campaign-related efforts, and improves collaboration within the region. In addition, she helps to strengthen the team by generating and implementing ideas for systems, program, and operational improvement, collaborating closely with peers and colleagues, and contributing to a positive working environment.
Most recently, Althea worked with the Department of Justice in the Office on Violence Against Women, as a Grant Program Officer in the Campus Unit, where she managed a portfolio of 150+ grant recipients nationally. Prior to that, Althea served as the Assistance Director, Capacity Building at the COMPASS Coordinating Center at the Emory University School of Public Health, and managed multiyear grants to HIV organizations and health care agencies; designed reports on grant spending and budget allocations, and developed and maintained processes and systems to track progress on grants. Althea has also worked with the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault and on HBCU initiatives at Tougaloo College.
